ABOUT ME: 

Hey I'm John King!  Before serving this community, I spent years as a mechanic in the Army! I took those skills and discipline into the next phase of my  life where I stepped into the world of contracting in Colorado. It wasn’t long before I moved from general labor or to running the entire South division of my group. One of the most impressive projects of that period was a seven story office building with a parking structure built from the ground up.

I proceeded to open my own contracting business, King West. Projects in Colorado were abundant. Retail stores, jewelry shops, salons, medical offices… You name it, I worked on it. King West was asked to venture out and take on projects in California. A country club in San Diego. A retirement home in Morgan Hill. Then off to San Francisco where I flipped around 30 condos and more!

As I worked  my way along the coast, I ultimately planted roots in Slo County and SloBuilt was brought to life in the early 2000’s. With my wife and three kids along for the ride, I gutted and built up my own beautiful home in downtown Arroyo Grande. Many of my projects over the years since have included rehabing hotels as vacation rentals, home renovation, parking structures, and more.

I am a family man, a dedicated hard worker, a cancer survivor, retired military. Bottom line, I'm THE guy for any of your contracting needs!
